The Importance of Backing Up Your Matrimony Script Database

When was the last time you backed up your Matrimony Site database? When was the last time you tested the backup to make sure everything was working properly? There’s never a bad time to review your policies and procedures for database backups.

Our recommended backup procedures include backing up your database regularly and keeping a copy of that backup in a secure location where it can be recovered in the event of a natural disaster, hardware loss, or other emergency. Unforeseen circumstances that result in the loss of data can cause significant hardship for an organization and result in additional, unnecessary delays in returning to normal business operations following an incident. We never know how natural disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, flooding, theft, fire, or hardware failure will impact operations, so it’s best to plan ahead and be as prepared as possible.

Every organization is different and will have different needs when it comes to backing up the database. For most organizations, it’s a good idea to back up your database at least once daily and to test that backup at least once weekly.

Even though, our script admin panel has DATA Backup, due to restrictions by the hosting companies, it might not work on all HOSTING servers.

Hence, its always BEST To login to the HOSTING Control panel and take the backup directly !

Example in cPanel

Backup a Database

To backup a database:

  1. Log into cPanel.
  2. In the Files section, click on the Backups icon.
  3. Under Download a MySQL Database Backup, click the name of the database you want to backup.
  4. In the pop-up that appears, select the Save File option and select a destination on your local machine where you would like the backup stored.

Once the backup is saved, you can quickly and easily restore the database if you should ever lose your data.
